Primary Healthcare Education Series Eye Health Talk and Screening

In support of World Optometry Week, the Hong Kong Society of Professional Optometrists HKSPO visited Kwun Tong on 22 March to hold an eye health talk and screening as part of the “Healthy Kwun Tong” Primary Healthcare Education Series.

The event aimed to share practical eye health knowledge with local residents, especially older adults in the community, and to provide simple vision screening for participants.

On the day, registered optometrists introduced daily eye care tips and explained common signs of eye diseases. The activity helped participants better understand their own eye health and encouraged them to seek professional advice when needed.

We were also delighted to have Year One optometry students joining the event. They worked alongside senior optometrists, helped answer questions, assisted with screening procedures, and gained meaningful experience in community eye care.
